Dr. Scott T. Chapman is a Texas State University System Regents' Professor, Sam Houston State University Distinguished Professor, and Scholar in Residence. In addition to being a mathematician, where he has research interests commutative algebra, combinatorics, and number theory, Dr. Chapman is also the editor-in-chief of Communications in Algebra. Other editorial positions include: Editor Emeritus and Associate Editor of The American Mathematical Monthly, Associate Editor for Involve.

Dr. Scott T. Chapman got his Bachelor of Science at Wake Forest University in 1981. He continued to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and aquired his Masters of Science in 1984. In 1987, he earned his Ph.D. from the University of North Texas.

Dr. Chapman's research interests are in commutative algebra, finite abelian groups, combinatorics and number theory. In particular, he is very interested in problems concerning factorization of elements in integral domains and monoids and problems concerning integer-valued polynomials.
