Important Information for New Graduate Certificiate Students

All new Graduate Certificate students are required to attend orientation through zoom or in person.
ALL new Graduate Certificate students must complete the To-Do List.

Graduate Certificate Programs Requirements
- All students in Graduate Certificate Programs must earn a minimum of 15 units of graduate credits (GPA above 3.0 [More Info: Academic Probation and Suspension]) to earn certificates.

  Academic Probation and Suspension
  - In order to achieve and remain in academic good standing at Sam Houston State University, a graduate student must maintain an overall grade point average of at least 3.0 on all graduate coursework attempted.
    
    Probation: A graduate student who falls below a 3.0 overall grade point average at the close of any semester during which one or more semester credit hours are attempted will be placed on probation.
    Termination: If an enrolled student receives an "F" grade in any semester, or if an enrolled student on probation fails to achieve a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average at the close of the next semester following the starting of the probation, the student will be terminated.

The following table includes the To-Do List for newly admitted students to complete within the deadlines.
ALL new Graduate Certificate students must complete the To-Do List unless it's marked as "optional".
All the forms must be submitted to the graduate advisor, Dr. An, via e-mail (an@shsu.edu) or in-person at her office AB1-212G.

	To Do	Deadlines
1.	ew students are required to be advised as there is an advising hold on their accounts that will prevent the students from registering for classes. To have your advising hold lifted, attendance at a mandatory orientation is necessary. Email the Grdauate Coordinator (an@shsu.edu) to confirm the date and location of the new student orientation. For those advising sessions conducted via Zoom conferences, please dress appropriately and keep your video enabled to facilitate identity verification.	Before the semester starts
2.	Go through and submit the signed MS CS Handbook. Once the signed handbook is received, the Graduate Coordinator will proceed to lift your advising hold.	At the end of the 2nd week of the semester
3. (Optional)	Submit GN-02: Grade/Degree Transfer Request Form, if you want to transfer graduate course credits from other universities toward IAC degree program.
4.	Study the information in the pages for terminal-semester students, and plan your graduation carefully.	As early as possible
